Mechanical Endstops The recommended firmware will provide a configuration to use mechanical endstops with just two wires. Find the area labelled “endstops” in the upper right corner of the board and for each of the X, Y, and Z pairs of pins label should be below each set do the following: The latest firmware such as Marlin seems to use NO as the default pin on the switch. Otherwise you may need to invert the endstops in the firmware. You can use M to check your endstops status. Put the connectors on the motor wires solder a female connector to the ends of each wire. Shown is the type used for servos in RC projects. See Stepper Motors for info on motors. Thermistor Wires Use a 2 pin 0. If changing to an unverified firmware it is best to verify heater circuit function with a meter before connecting heater to prevent damage to the extruder.
Wanhao / Monoprice Maker Select Plus RAMPS Upgrade: Considerations
There is MAJOR construction on the property right next to this KOA, less than 50 feet from the property boundary, and less than feet from our specific campsite. We arrived on the weekend and I observed the sprawling construction site while we were pulling in to the campground. We were booked here for a four night stay. I made a note to myself that I was going to see when and to what level of intrusion the construction would begin and if it was hopefully only going to during the weekday daylight hours.

Properly adjusting electric brake controllers is not fun. It basically involves fully applying the brakes, to the threshold of tire lockup ,to properly determine the maximum gain setting, and then setting up the sensitivity to apply the brakes at a rate which matches the vehicles braking system. To maintain full braking power, this needs to be done anytime the load, or road conditions change.
In other words, the vast majority of people with electric brakes are not set up correctly. The single advantage of electric brakes is the ability to independently apply the trailer brakes to stop trailer sway. With surge brakes, they are self adjusting to load, maximum stopping power is always available, trailer empty or full. One other advantage is no need to install a controller, and anyone can tow the trailer safely.

Firstly, ask here too because there are way more people there who are familiar with RAMPS and I’ll bet you’ll a get a better answer there. Although, there is a growing number of highly competent forum patrons here too so lets see what they have to say. As for my answer, easy, replace it with a bipolar NEMA 23 stepper and you’re done. The good thing is they are standardized so another NEMA 23 will bolt right into your linear way without a hitch, just need to make sure the shafts are identical in diameter and length.
Making sure to stay within the electrical power rating of the RAMS driver as well. On the other hand, with your RAMPS board you’ll notice that there are 5 receptacles where you can plug in stepper motor drivers. As you’ve learned those drivers are not compatible with your stepper motor, however, you have a driver that IS compatible with your motor. So, what you could do is find out what pins on a RAMPS board driver receptacle correspond to step and direction and then connect those pins to your step and direction pins on your driver that you have for your motor.
If you figured out how to do this all you would need is a power supply for your stepper motor driver and you’d be up and running.

If you have a four lead motor, then that is plenty easy. But what if the motor has five, six or even eight wires? What can you do with them?

Mark and return to your hot spots, boat ramps and docks. Sonar history rewind allows you to scroll back through sonar images to mark waypoints you originally may have missed. Instead of sending just 1 single frequency, CHIRP sends a continuous sweep of frequencies, ranging from low to high, then interprets them individually upon their return. Since the frequencies provide a wider range of information, CHIRP sonar technology can create crisper fish arches with greater target separation.
You also can upgrade to high-performance Garmin CHIRP technology, which provides crystal-clear sonar images with even more remarkable target separation and resolution from shallow to deeper depths. More importantly, they allow you to mark spots where the fish are biting so you can return to them again in the future. You also can mark docks, boat ramps and other locations on the lake.
Just follow the path created on your screen to return to them whenever you wish. Use the waypoint map to easily view, mark and navigate to locations such as brush piles, stumps and docks. Anytime you are stationary fishing, such as ice fishing or jigging for crappie, the built-in flasher will show you the bottom, whether it is solid or muddy, your jig or weighted bait, and the depth of fish as they swim into the sonar beam. You can even watch how high your jig is being lifted and dropped and whether fish move toward or away from it.
